How It Happened
Lebanon Valley hung tough with a talented Alvernia squad but couldn't break through with a score in the team's 2-0 loss at Arnold Field on Wednesday night, Oct. 25.

The Golden Wolves (11-7, 5-2 MAC Commonwealth) struck first, taking advantage of penalty corner in the 10th minute. Madison Potthoff pushed a pass into the circle and Malorie McCoy finished it off from right of goal to make it 1-0 Alvernia.

The visitors doubled their advantage less than 10 minutes later when Andrea Wysocki put home a marker from in close off a pretty through pass that Taylor Dorrin fit through a gaggle of Lebanon Valley defenders.

The Flying Dutchmen (6-11, 2-5 MAC Commonwealth) appeared to cut the deficit in half following a penalty corner at the first-half buzzer when Jenna Lysakowski put back a rebounded ball off a Cecile Kat saved attempt. The referees called off the apparent score, however, claiming that ball never left the circle following the corner insertion.

LVC's defense locked down in the second half, keeping Alvernia off the board despite six penalty-corner opportunities in the final 17 minutes. Unfortunately for the Dutchmen, looks from Maddie Fox and Casey Dombroski were turned away by Golden Wolves' goalkeeper Emma Beamesderfer to halt any hope of a late comeback.

Senior Night
Prior to Wednesday's game, Lebanon Valley honored a special group of young ladies in their Class of 2018. Team captains Casey Dombroski, Maddie Fox, and McKenna Lupold, along with Rachel Gorman and Olivia Poltonavage were recognized during a pregame ceremony. The group racked up numerous all-region, all-conference, and academic honors during their time at LVC, along with wins over nationally-ranked opponents including Messiah and William Smith.
