How It Happened
GRANTHAM, Pa. – Two first-half goals for No. 7 Messiah proved to be the difference as Lebanon Valley's women's soccer team was blanked by the Falcons 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Dutchmen now sit at 8-3-3, 4-2 MAC Commonwealth, while Messiah improved to 11-1-3, 5-0-1 MAC Commonwealth.
The Falcons got on the board very early when Sunny Gelnovatch headed home a high pass from Julia Kyne just 3:32 into the match for the early lead. Then, in the 36th minute, Brooke Firestone got a cross pass from Kyne and scored to give Messiah 2-0 advantage heading into halftime.
In the beginning of the second half, in the 56th minute, LVC had an opportunity to come to within a goal, but
Rileigh Jo Evitts' shot was saved by Lydia Ewing. The Dutchmen were unable to get any more good looks in the offensive zone and the Falcons went on to win 2-0.

Playoff Picture
Currently, Messiah is the only squad who has clinched a MAC Commonwealth Tournament spot. The Dutchmen can clinch a spot against Arcadia on Tuesday.

LVC's final home game of the regular season is set for Tuesday at 4 p.m. when Arcadia comes to Annville for a pivotal conference matchup.
