How It Happened
GRANTHAM, Pa. – Lebanon Valley dropped an incredibly close game to No. 3 Messiah 2-1 in double overtime on Saturday night in MAC Commonwealth men's soccer action. The Dutchmen moved to 10-3-1, 4-2 MAC Commonwealth and the Falcons improved to 15-1, 6-0 MAC Commonwealth. Despite the loss, LVC has clinched a spot in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament.

4:54 into the second overtime, Colby Thomas was charging up the right side and stopped to cross the ball to Kirby Robbins, who was in front of the box and used his left foot to sneak one past Cam Avery, giving Messiah the golden-goal victory.

The game was scoreless after one half of action, but in the 56th minute, Austin Freeman delivered a ball to Rob Hanosek who scored the game's first goal, and his fourth of the season, for the Dutchmen's 1-0 advantage.

13 minutes later, in the 69th minute, K. Robbins scored for Messiah off a direct kick from Danny Brandt, to even the game at 1-1. For the most part, LVC's defense kept the No. 3 team in the country at bay, but Messiah was able to finally break out in the second overtime and barely edge LVC.

Inside the Numbers
 - Avery made six stops in net for LVC, while Messiah's Bell also notched six saves.
 - The Falcons outshot the Dutchmen 23-12, but only held an 8-7 advantage in shots on net.
 - Messiah earned eight corner kicks compared to LVC's five.
 - Hanosek's four goals on the season is tied for second-most on the squad.
