How It Happened
OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Cheyenne Scott connected on a second-half penalty kick and Lebanon Valley's women's soccer team topped Stevenson 1-0 in a pivotal MAC Commonwealth match on Wednesday night. The Dutchmen improved to 8-2-3, 4-1 MAC Commonwealth, while the Mustangs fell to 10-5, 3-2 MAC Commonwealth.

Just over 14 minutes into the second half, Stevenson was called for handball in their box, resulting in a penalty kick for LVC. Scott was called upon to take the shot, and she used her left foot and kept it low on the left side of the net and scored to give the Dutchmen a big 1-0 lead.

The Dutchmen's defense, who has now recorded back-to-back shutouts, took over from there and limited Stevenson's scoring chances and kept the Mustangs off the scoreboard for the remainder of the half, as LVC went on to win the game by a 1-0 margin.

Inside the Numbers
 - Emma Strickler recorded the shutout for the Dutchmen and had to make just one save.
 - LVC led in shots (13-4) and shots on goal (6-1).
 - The Dutchmen also held the advantage in corners at 9-5.
 - Coming into tonight's game, the Dutchmen and Mustangs were tied in the conference standings at 3-1, however this big win pushed LVC to 4-1 and dropped Stevenson to 3-2.
 - The Dutchmen are now alone in third place in the MAC Commonwealth behind Arcadia (4-1) and Messiah (3-0-1), two teams that LVC are yet to play.
