How It Happened
Rachel Gorman's game-winning goal with 12:02 left to play was the difference in Lebanon Valley's 2-1 victory at Stevenson on Wednesday night, Oct. 18.
The score was tied at 1-1 for more than a 30-minute stretch that spanned the end of the first half into the second until Gorman converted her second marker of the season off an assist from
Cecile Kat to put the Flying Dutchmen (6-9, 2-3 MAC Commonwealth) out in front in the 57th minute.
The Mustangs (5-9, 1-4 MAC Commonwealth) trailed for much of the first half before Noel Martin netted the unassisted equalizer with less than 10 minutes left before halftime.
LVC jumped out to an early lead when Kat converted the team's first shot of the night off a helper from
Kaylea Garman to make it 1-0 Dutchmen just 3:27 into the contest.
Turning Point
Rachel Gorman broke a 30-plus minute tie when she netted the eventual game-winner off an assist from
Cecile Kat in the 57th minute. The marker proved to be all the scoring the Dutchmen needed thanks to a pair of saves by LVC goalkeeper Tori ByDeley in the final 12 minutes, including one with 24 seconds remaining that sealed the hard-fought victory.
