How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – On Homecoming Saturday, Lebanon Valley cruised to a 4-0 shutout-victory over Hood on Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth women's soccer action. The Dutchmen improved to 7-2-3, 3-1 MAC Commonwealth and the Blazers fell to 8-6-1, 0-5 MAC Commonwealth.

It didn't take long for LVC to light up the scoreboard this afternoon. Just 4:09 into the match, Maya Cohen's long run led to a Samantha Machin breakaway and the sophomore netted her first goal of the season to give the Dutchmen an early 1-0 advantage. Neither team was able to score for the remainder of the half and LVC went into the break with a 1-0 lead.

Then, just over four minutes into the second half, the Dutchmen drew a foul and Rileigh Jo Evitts got a free kick from just outside the box and lofted it over a diving Rachel Knoebel to increase the Dutchmen's lead to 2-0. 10 minutes later, Casi Swope delivered a pass to the left side for Teanna Shutt, and newly-minted Homecoming Queen was able to slide it past the keeper and make it 3-0 in favor of LVC. In the 65th minute, Evitts added her second score of the game off an assist from Katie Goldsmith, and the Dutchmen held on for the easy 4-0 win.
