How It Happened
Lebanon Valley capped the 2017 Homecoming Weekend with one of its best offensive performances of the season in a 5-0 shutout victory over Hood under the lights at Arnold Field on Saturday night, Oct. 14.

Isabella Vulopas netted the eventual game-winner, Maddie Fox added a pair of markers, and the LVC defense didn't allow a single shot in the team's second shutout win of the fall.

After six penalty-corner attempts, the Flying Dutchmen (5-9, 1-3 MAC Commonwealth) finally broke through when Jenna Lysakowski inserted the ball towards the top of the circle and Vulopas did the rest, ripping her attempt past Hood goalkeeper Hailey Poisal and into the back of the cage in the 11th minute.

McKenna Lupold got into the scoring act when she followed a Fox attempt that was pushed off to the right and rebounded her shot inside the left post to double the Dutchmen advantage with 14:45 remaining in the first half.

It didn't take long for Fox to convert a goal of her own, as just five minutes later she raced towards the goal with a look at a scoring opportunity. Poisal made a move towards the ball, diving to the ground to stop the momentum, but Fox gathered it and made a move around the goalkeeper before finishing from point-blank range.

LVC kept the pressure on in the second half and just moments after the break, Kaylea Garman knocked down a Blazers' pass attempt from just outside their circle and made a nice pass through traffic to Cecile Kat who did the rest and made it 4-0 with 32:29 left to play.

Fox put an exclamation point on the scoring in the 47th minute when she showed off her stickwork by weaving around Hood defenders near the left side of the cage before flicking the ball past Poisal to cap the game's scoring.
