How It Happened
Lebanon Valley won its second overtime contest of the season, this time of the double OT variety, when
Megan Arnst finished off
Maddie Fox's pass following a penalty-corner with no time remaining in the second extra session to clinch a thrilling 2-1 victory at Juniata on Wednesday night.
The Eagles (0-2) committed a foul inside the circle as time expired, giving LVC (2-1) one last opportunity to avoid penalty strokes. The Dutchmen didn't disappoint.
Lebanon Valley came from behind in this one, erasing a 1-0 deficit when
Casey Dombroski netted her first goal of the young season in the game's 41st minute just moments after
Rachel Gorman put a ball in play on a penalty corner.
Juniata struck first when Rachel Weigel gathered a Sarah Alexander pass and put her attempt into the back of the box with 14:14 left to play in the first half.
No Time, No Problem
Arnst's game-winner was a thing of beauty. With zeroes on the clock, the Dutchmen were one turnover away from trying their hand at penalty strokes. Instead, Fox hooked up with Arnst for what proved to be the most thrilling score of the young season, prompting the LVC bench to storm the field for a frenzied walk-off celebration.
