How It Happened
SCRANTON, Pa. – Lebanon Valley scored three goals in each half and cruised past Marywood by a 6-2 score on Monday night in non-conference women's soccer action. The Dutchmen are now 2-0 to start a season for the second consecutive year, while the Pacers fell to 0-2.

Sammy Bost didn't waste much time lighting up the scoreboard as she scored her second of the season in the 13th minute off a cross from the right sideline by Katie Goldsmith. Later, in the 33rd minute, Meghan Ross found the back of the net when Bost served her a ball from the right perimeter that Ross tapped in from eight yards out to give the Dutchmen a 2-0 advantage. Just 40 seconds later, Kirstyn Sokolsky served the ball into the box off a corner kick and Emmie Santoleri connected on a slick header that beat Marywood's goalie for the 3-0 lead.

The Pacers added a goal in the final minutes of the first, but LVC took a commanding 3-1 advantage heading into halftime.

The Dutchmen kept their first-half momentum going in the second half when Riley Jo Evitts netted her first tally as a member of LVC off an assist from Sokolsky to make it a 4-1 match. Then, 57 seconds later, Ross collected her second marker of the night thanks to Sokolsky's third assist of the match.

Samantha Machin put the icing on the cake in the 64th minute and scored her first collegiate goal when Kira Pushart crossed the ball to Machin from the left side of the box. Marywood found the back of the net in the 81st minute, but it wasn't nearly enough as the Dutchmen cruised to the 6-1 win.
