How It Happened
HAVERFORD, Pa. – Lebanon Valley traveled to take on Haverford on Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's soccer action and fell by a 2-0 score. The Dutchmen suffered their first loss of the season and now sit at 2-1, while the Fords jumped to 2-1.
Haverford score both of its goals in the second half this afternoon, with the first one coming in the 51st minute when a shot deflected off of an LVC player in the box to give Skyler Ellenburg a goal with an assist from Leanne Ludwick.
Then, in the 65th minute,
Meghan Ross had a quality scoring chance for the Dutchmen, but her ball deflected off the crossbar and the score remained 1-0 in favor of the Fords. In the 76th minute, Haverford got a corner kick, resulting in a shot from the box by Kristen Fiore. Fiore's shot was saved by LVC's
Taylor Reinhold, but the rebound came out to Grave Mathis, who snuck it past Reinhold for the 2-0 Haverford lead.
