M. Soccer Earns Tough Road Win at Muhlenberg

How It Happened
ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's men's soccer team earned a hard-fought narrow 2-1 victory over Muhlenberg on Saturday night in non-conference action. The Dutchmen improved to 2-0, while the Mules evened their record to 1-1. This is was LVC's first-ever victory over Muhlenberg in 20 meetings dating back to 1993.

With the game tied at 1-1 in the 81st minute of action, Mitch Crane received a pass into the box off of a corner kick from Austin Freeman and buried it to give LVC a critical 2-1 advantage late in the game. The Dutchmen were able to hold off Muhlenberg the rest of the way, en route to the tough 2-1 win.

The Mules got the scoring started when LVC let in an own goal due to a ball deflecting off a defender in the 51st minute of action in the second half. Later, in the 67th minute, the Dutchmen finally got on the board when Jake Kline received a pass into the box from Gabe Stasyszyn and deflected it past Muhlenberg's netminder for the tally.

Inside the Numbers
 - The Dutchmen held the edge in shots at 13-6 and shots on goal at 6-3.
 - The Mules' Hanyon made four saves, while Cam Avery improved to 2-0 and made a pair of saves.
 - LVC held a strong advantage in corner kicks at 10-4.

Stat of the Day
This is the Dutchmen's first 2-0 start to a season since the 2013 campaign.

LVC returns home on Wednesday and plays host to Misericordia at 4 p.m.
