How It Happened
Lebanon Valley's women's soccer team was unable to generate any offense against Misericordia, who received 11 votes in the latest NSCAA Top-25 poll, resulting in a 2-0 loss to the Cougars on a rainy Wednesday afternoon. The Dutchmen fell to 6-2, while Misericordia improved to 7-2.
Alex Gallagher got the Cougars on the board less than 90 seconds into the match when she kicked it to Kylen Smith off of a corner and Smith kicked it back to Gallagher who ripped one from 30 yards out over the head of LVC's
Taylor Reinhold and into the back of the net for the early 1-0 advantage.
The Dutchmen were able to keep Misericordia's potent offense in check until the 41st minute when Jordyn Martini served a just to the right of the box to Gallagher, who snuck past the defense and beat the goalie on a one-vs.-one play, giving the Cougars the 2-0 lead that they never relinquished in the second half.
