How It Happened
Lebanon Valley dropped a 4-0 contest to No. 15 Messiah in each team's opening MAC Commonwealth match of the 2016 season. The Dutchmen fell to 6-3, 0-1 MACC, while the Falcons jumped to 7-2, 1-0 MACC.

The brutal portion of LVC's schedule continued with the middle game of a rough three-game stretch. In the opening 15 minutes, action was controlled by Messiah and it eventually broke through when Erin Sollenberger sent a pass into the box for Marisa Weaver and Weaver had the mini breakaway where she juked Taylor Reinhold and scored to make it 1-0 in the 18th minute.

The Falcons struck again in the 27th minute when Sollenberger got loose and ripped a shot that was saved by Reinhold, but Sollenberger was able to get her own rebound and put one past Reinhold to make it 2-0 heading into halftime.

In the 61st minute of the second half, Weaver found the back of the net again off a long pass from the left side, and Weaver completed the hat trick in the 67th minute when her right-side corner kick somehow found the back of the net for the 4-0 Messiah lead.

Inside the Numbers
 - Reinhold kept LVC within striking distance and made an impressive eight saves for the Dutchmen.
 - Johnna Garbrick, Rileigh Jo Evitts, Teanna Shutt, Kira Pushart, and Samantha Machin all had shots for LVC.
 - Messiah's Sara Yunez made two stops between the pipes.
 - The Falcons outshot LVC 22-5 and 12-5 in shots on goal.
