How It Happened
Lebanon Valley's recent five-game win streak came to an end with a 3-2 loss at Susquehanna on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 21.

The River Hawks (5-1) escaped with the victory by the narrowest of margins when Taylor Franco deflected Emily Novakovich's initial attempt across the goal line for what proved to be the game-winning score with just 1:26 left to play.

With her team trailing 2-1 midway through the second half, SU's Hunter Pitman converted the equalizer off an assist from Tessa Woodring in the 57th minute after Rachel Gorman netted the second of her two goals off a feed from Hannah Simon to put LVC (6-2) out in front less than ten minutes earlier.

Pitman scored her first marker of the day with 1:43 left in the first half. Novakovich added the first of her two assists and tied the score at 1-1 heading into halftime.

Gorman got the Flying Dutchmen on the board first when she converted a penalty stroke at the 11:07 mark of the first half.

Turning Point
It came down to the wire but Susquehanna got the bounce it needed when Emily Novakovich's shot was tipped into the back of the box by Taylor Franco with less than two minutes to play. The River Hawks left LVC little time to net the equalizer and held on to win in front of their hometown crowd.

Inside the Numbers
- Susquehanna finished with advantages in both total shots (13-8) and SOG (8-5).
- The River Hawks held a commanding advantage in penalty corners at 10-3, including eight in the second half.
- SU goalkeeper Morgan Ludlam needed to make just three saves in the win, while Sarah DiMaggio made five stops in net for Lebanon Valley.
- Rachel Gorman's two-score day was the first multi-goal performance of her career.
- LVC's recent five-game win streak was the team's longest since winning six in a row in late September and early October of 2015.
- The last three contests between the Dutchmen and Susquehanna dating back to 2014 have been decided by a single goal.
