How It Happened
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley scored a goal in each half and went on to blank Wilkes 2-0 on Saturday night in non-conference men's soccer action. The Dutchmen improved to 5-1, while the Colonels dropped to 2-4.
LVC got on the board early when
Matt Prince netted his team-leading fourth goal of the season to give the Dutchmen the early 1-0 advantage. For the remainder of the half, LVC's defense as able to hold Wilkes off the scoreboard and went into halftime clinging to a one-goal lead.
In the 70th minute, the Dutchmen extended their lead when
Ian McGinnis crossed a ball into the box and
Tyler Skye sent the ball into the lower left corner of the back of the net for the two-goal advantage, which LVC held on to the remainder of the half for the shutout win.
