How It Happened
Lebanon Valley was unable to figure out Arcadia's Mike Boulanger, as the Knights shut out the Dutchmen 6-0 in game one of a double header at McGill Field on Saturday on Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Day and Alumni Appreciation Day.
Arcadia scored in the top of the first and added to its lead in the top of the fourth with a double by Connor Arsenault. The Knights added four more in the top of the fifth, as the Dutchmen's bats could not plate a run due to Boulanger's big day. Boulanger (3-3) gave up just three hits in the complete-game shutout.
Zach Smith had two hits for the Dutchmen, while
Michael Puglisi added a knock.
Jacob Williams (2-4) suffered the loss after going 4.1 innings, while
Corey Sell relieved Williams and went 2.2 innings and gave up no earned runs.

How It Happened
Casey Wall threw a complete game and got on the board early and eventually earned the split with Arcadia by winning the nightcap 6-3.
Marshall Kiessling delivered a single to center field in the bottom of the first to score
Colin Albright and Puglisi and give the Dutchmen a 2-0 lead. In the fourth, the Knights got one back on a sacrifice fly, but in the bottom of the fifth,
Philip Berry hit a two-RBI single to right center that plated Z. Smith and Albright to make it 4-1.
In the top of the sixth, Arcadia came to within two runs, however LVC shut the door in the bottom of the sixth when
Brett Fundell singled home Puglisi and Z. Smith also singled to score Albright, increasing the lead back to three at 6-3, which was enough for Wall, who retired Arcadia in order in the top of the seventh to propel LVC to the win.
Inside the Numbers
- Albright finished with three hits and three runs scored, while Puglisi had two hits and is just four hits away from 100 for his career. If he collects his 100th hit, he'll become the fourth Dutchmen to reach the 100 career hits mark this season.
- Wall went the distance and scattered six hits while striking out five batters.
Who's Next?
LVC welcomes Marywood to Annville on Tuesday for a 3:30 p.m. game. Next Friday, the Dutchmen head to Frederick, Md. to battle Hood before hosting the Blazers next Saturday in the regular season finale.
