M. Lacrosse Keeps Pace in Conference with Win Over Lyco

How It Happened
Koty Keefer and Alex Bushong each scored four goals to lead Lebanon Valley to an 11-7 win over Lycoming on Wednesday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth action. The Dutchmen improved their overall record to 9-4 and remained near the top the conference by moving to 4-1. The Warriors fell to 3-10, 2-4 MAC Commonwealth.

Keefer got LVC started by scoring a goal 8:35 into the first and he added another less than a minute later, as the Dutchmen took a 2-0 lead after one quarter of play. After Bushong put LVC ahead 3-0, Lyco's Tim Breau made it a 3-1 contest 7:29 into the second. Bushong, however, scored two goals in a row with assists from Jeremy Beaver and Brett Kudlak, to give the Dutchmen a 5-1 advantage at halftime.

Klayton Garman got on the board in the third after the Warriors scored earlier in the quarter to make it 6-2 and Kudlak added an unassisted goal to make it 7-2. Then in the fourth quarter with the Dutchmen up 8-3, Mike Cooper made it a four-goal game by scoring three and half minutes into the final period. From there, the teams traded off goals as Bushong, Garman, and Keefer scored down the stretch to give LVC the 11-7 win.

Inside the Numbers
 - Keefer and Bushong each scored four goals, while Bushong picked up three ground balls.
 - Garman added a pair of scores and corralled three ground balls.
 - Coleman Wagner was a force on the defense, picking up a team-high four ground balls and causing a team-high three turnovers.
 - LVC held the slight edge in shots at 37-36, however Lyco had 23 shots on goal compared to the Dutchmen's 22.
 - LVC was a perfect 16-for-16 on clears, while the Warriors were 19-for-27.
 - Beaver went 14-for-21 on faceoffs, which led to several Dutchmen goals.
 - Cameron Epple continued an impressive freshman campaign by improving to 9-4 and making 16 saves in the victory.

Who's Next?
LVC faces a tough test this Saturday, as it hosts No. 11 Stevenson at 1 p.m. when the Dutchmen will celebrate Senior Day.
