Brett Kudlak and
Alex Bushong, and 17 faceoff victories by
Jeremy Beaver.
The Flying Dutchmen (8-4, 3-1 MAC Commonwealth) were strong out of the gate, scoring four first quarter goals and holding a 4-1 advantage after one. Beaver won the opening face-off, scooped the ground ball, and
Nick Mowry found the back of the net just 16 seconds into the contest.
After Arcadia (2-10, 0-4 MAC Commonwealth) netted the equalizer at the 12:34 mark, LVC scored three straight. Kudlak got the first one off a
Matt Torrence assist,
Klayton Garman found twine off an
Austin Farwell feed, and Bushong converted his first of the afternoon with 7:11 left in the period.
Garman opened the second quarter with his second marker of the game, with Kudlak assisting on the goal at the 11:18 mark. The Knights scored two in a row before the Dutchmen answered with a 3-0 run over a span of less than two minutes as the half wound down.
Brian Kilonsky found the mark off a Beaver look before
Koty Keefer finished off a
Jacques Mercer pass and Kudlak found twine 1:31 before the break.
Lebanon Valley added three more in the third period thanks to
Coleman Wagner, Bushong, and Kudlak finding the back of the net and took an 11-7 lead into the final quarter.
It took just 12 seconds for
Chris Bergeron to give LVC a five-goal advantage when he put his shot past Arcadia goalkeeper AJ Beck at the 14:48 mark and after Kenny Grant cut the deficit to four a few minutes later, Bushong sealed the victory with his third of the game with 3:42 remaining.
Inside the Numbers- With his hat trick,
Brett Kudlak increased his team-leading goal total to 22. It was his third three-goal game of the season.
- For
Alex Bushong, it was his second hat trick in the last four games. He also added a team-high three caused turnovers.
- LVC more than doubled up the Knights with a 32-14 advantage in shots on goal.
- The Dutchmen were strong on the clear, converting 12-of-14 opportunities. Arcadia managed just a 13-of-22 clip.
- Lebanon Valley scooped up 36 ground balls compared to 23 by the Knights.
- The Dutchmen played a disciplined game and were whistled for just one penalty. They were also 2-5 on man-up opportunities.
