How It Happened
READING, Pa. – Lebanon Valley dropped two games to Alvernia on Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth action. The Dutchmen fell to 13-18, 6-8 MAC Commonwealth, while the Crusaders improved to 21-12, 12-3 MAC Commonwealth and stayed atop the conference standings.

In the opening game, LVC was shut down by Thomas Malik, who limited the Dutchmen's offense to just two hits in the complete game shutout. Zac Edwards and Michael Puglisi each had a hit for LVC.

Jacob Williams (2-3) threw five innings and struck out four while yielding six runs. Francis Esposito, Ben Dubas, and Joe IacoBellis each had three hits for the Crusaders.

How It Happened
In the nightcap, the Crusaders jumped out to an 8-0 lead and LVC was unable to dig itself out of a hole, eventually falling by a 14-2 score.

The Dutchmen's two runs came in the top of the fifth when Edwards sent a ball over the right field fence for the two-run home run that scored Jonathan Harned.

Edwards finished with two hits, while Zach Smith and Josh Marcelli also added a pair of hits each. For Alvernia, John Catchmark tossed five innings and gave up an earned run.

Who's Next?
LVC is back in action tomorrow afternoon when the Dutchmen travel to take on Penn St.-Harrisburg in non-conference action beginning at 2 p.m.
