How It Happened
Stevenson outlasted Lebanon Valley 17-13 in a game that featured a combined 30 runs and 32 hits on Friday afternoon at McGill Field. The Dutchmen fell to 10-12, 3-4 MAC Commonwealth and the Mustangs improved to 13-12, 4-3 MAC Commonwealth.

Stevenson jumped on LVC starter Michael Houseal in the top of the first for four quick runs. In the bottom of the first, after Zac Edwards reached on an error, lightning was spotted in the area and the game was delayed for about 30 minutes. Coming out of the delay, Michael Puglisi killed any momentum the Mustangs had gained and drilled a triple to right center to score Edwards for a 4-1 game. Colin Albright followed with a sacrifice fly to make it 4-2, and later Marshall Kiessling doubled home Brett Fundell to make it 4-3. Greg Orlando continued his torrid season and doubled home Kiessling to tie the game at 4-4.

In the third inning, Stevenson added a run and the Mustangs added three more in the fourth including an inside-the-park home run by Matt Myers to make it an 8-4 game. In the bottom of the fourth, Puglisi roped a triple to right center to score Edwards and Zach Smith to make it 8-6. Albright followed again and singled home Puglisi to make it 8-7.

From there until the bottom of the seventh, it was all Mustangs and they scored six more runs to take a 14-7 lead. In the bottom of the seventh, Fundell started the comeback train with an RBI-single and Orlando hit a sacrifice fly to make it 14-9. Stevenson added two more in the top of the eighth, but LVC answered in the bottom of the frame when Puglisi notched his fourth and fifth RBI of the game with a double to left center to make it 16-11. After he scored on a wild pitch to make it 16-12, Fundell notched a sacrifice fly to make it 16-13. In the top of the ninth, the Mustangs added one more and the Dutchmen were unable to comeback in the bottom of the ninth.
