Triples by
Cheyanne Brown and
Sammy Bost in the bottom of the first and second innings drove in runs to put LVC (0-3) out in front 3-0 through two.
Oneonta's offense came to life in the top of the third, however, as the team used five singles and a walk to score four runs before the Dutchmen drew even when
Emily Johnson sent her first home run of the year over the fence in the bottom of the frame.
The Dragons took advantage of two LVC errors in the fourth to score three unearned runs and retake the lead at 7-4. Lebanon Valley struck back in the bottom of the stanza Bost plated following a failed throw down to third base and
Jordyn Miller singled to drive in Brown.
The teams battled through scoreless fifth and sixth innings before Oneonta widened the gap in the top of the seventh by adding four runs, all of which were unearned following a Dutchmen error. LVC battled back in the bottom half when
Jordyn Miller and
Kelli Valle doubled in back-to-back at-bats, followed by
Elaine Gross' RBI single later in the stanza. The Dutchmen loaded the bases but a game-ending strikeout ended the team's comeback hopes.
Inside the Circle - Nina Mentzer made her first start of the young season for LVC, throwing two innings and allowing four runs on four hits. She struck out two of the 11 batters she faced.

Haley Christensen was the long hurler out of the pen. She went five innings and allowed four earned runs on nine hits to go along with her three strikeouts.
- Oneonta's Sabrina Deangelis earned the complete-game victory, allowing seven earned runs on 14 hits and a pair of walks. She also struck out eight Dutchmen on the day.

How It HappenedWittenberg's seven-run second inning proved too much to overcome in Lebanon Valley's 12-2 setback in Clermont, Fla. on Tuesday morning.
After the Flying Dutchmen (0-4) left the bases loaded in the top of the first inning, the Tigers (4-0) posted a two-spot in the bottom of the stanza before exploding for five hits and seven runs in the ensuing frame to jump out to a 9-0 lead after two.
Emily Johnson got LVC on the board in the top of the third when she launched her first home run of the spring, a two-run blast that plated
Haley Christensen after she singled to reach base.
Wittenberg used an RBI triple to add a run in the bottom of the stanza before adding a pair in the fourth when Carley Sullivan cleared the bases with a two-out double.
Christensen and Johnson reached base in the top of the next frame but the Dutchmen failed to drive either of them across, ending the game after four and a half innings.
Inside the Circle-
Holly Langdon got her start of the young season against Wittenberg. She allowed 15 hits and three walks to go along with her pair of strikeouts.
- Abby Haab got the start and the win for the Tigers. She threw four innings and allowed just two runs on three hits and three walks. She added three strikeouts.
- Katy Baumgartner pitched the top of the fifth inning, striking out one batter and allowing two hits before getting a pair of ground balls to end the contest.
At the Plate- The Dutchmen managed five hits, with
Emily Johnson and
Haley Christensen recording two each.
- Johnson's two-run shot accounted for both of LVC's runs and was the team's only extra-base hit of the contest.
- Wittenberg's Abby Baker drove in a game-high three runs, while Lauren Buelow was a perfect 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
- The Tigers managed three extra-base hits with a triple and two doubles.
Around the Diamond- LVC committed two errors on the day and the Tigers committed one. None led to unearned runs.
