How It Happened
CHESTER, Pa. - Lebanon Valley struggled to produce runs en route to dropping two games to Widener on Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth action. The Dutchmen dropped a 3-0 decision in the opening game before falling 4-1 in the nightcap. LVC dropped to 5-9, 0-3 MAC Commonwealth on the season, while the Pride improved to 8-5, 3-0 MAC Commonwealth.

In the first game, the Dutchmen found themselves in a pitchers' duel until the bottom of the fourth when Nicholas Enos broke the 0-0 tie and hit an RBI-single to score Justin Healey. Then in the fifth inning, Healey singled through the right side, plating Cory Snyder to make it 2-0.

Unfortunately, LVC struggled offensively and could not figure out Widener's starting pitcher, Lafferty, who threw a complete- game shutout while giving up six hits.

At the Plate
 - Marshall Kiessling and Nick O'Shea each had two hits, while Ross Drawbaugh added one.

On the Mound
 - Casey Wall took the loss despite a solid outing. He tossed six innings and gave up three runs on five hits to go along with four strikeouts.

In the nightcap, the Dutchmen broke a 0-0 tie in the fifth when Zac Edwards singled to score Tyler Mathe, but the lead couldn't be held as the Pride scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the 3-1 lead. Widener scored again the sixth to take the 4-1 advantage and went on to take the second game.

At the Plate
 - Greg Orlando got the start at the DH spot and went 2-for-2 at the plate, while Marc Seibert added a hit and a walk for the Dutchmen.

On the Mound
 - Corey Sell threw fiving innings and gave up three earned runs for LVC.

Who's Next?
The Dutchmen look to get back on track on Monday when LVC hosts DeSales for a 3:30 p.m. game.
