How It Happened
ELMIRA, N.Y. – Lebanon Valley outscored Elmira 9-2 in the second half en route to a 14-5 drubbing of the Soaring Eagles on Saturday afternoon. The win is the Dutchmen's third straight, as they moved to 3-1, while Elmira dropped to 0-2.

Klayton Garman began the scoring when he found the back of the net at 11:27 of the first quarter off an assist from Austin Minnich. After the Eagles scored twice to take a 2-1 lead after one quarter of play, Garman scored again just 18 seconds into the second quarter to even the score at 2-2.

At 11:29 of the second quarter, Brett Kudlak gave the Dutchmen a 3-2 advantage and just minutes later, Jacques Mercer made it a 4-2 game. With 4:05 left in the first half, Mercer scored again for the 5-2 lead and LVC went into halftime with a 5-3 advantage.

Mercer netted his third of the game at the 8:18 mark of the third quarter to make it 6-3, which began a streak of seven consecutive Dutchmen goals, as they took a 12-3 lead early in the fourth quarter and never looked back to come away with the dominant 14-5 win.

Inside the Numbers
 - Garman and Mercer each recorded a hat trick, while Garman picked up six ground balls and caused two turnovers.
 - Koty Keefer notched two goals and two helpers, while Alex Bushong had three assists to go along with a goal.
 - Austin Minnich had a team-high seven ground balls and Jeremy Beaver added four more. Beaver was also 12-for-18 from the faceoff circle for the Dutchmen.
 - LVC dominated in shots as a team at 48-28 and held the edge in ground balls at 41-38.
 - The Dutchmen were 15-for-18 on clear attempts compared to Elmira's 18-for-29 line.
 - LVC's defense stood tall went it counted, as the Eagles were 0-for-6 on extra man opportunities.

Between the Pipes
The reigning USILA Division III South Defensive Player of the Week and MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week Cameron Epple allowed just three goals in over 53 minutes of action, while making six saves in the process.

Who's Next?
The Dutchmen's non-conference portion of the schedule continues when LVC makes the short trip to Lancaster to battle Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
