How It HappenedFORT PIERCE, Fla. – Lebanon Valley dropped a pair of contests to the University of Northwestern (Minn.) in the Dutchmen's final two games in Florida on Thursday afternoon. The Dutchmen fell 10-0 in the first game before being edged out by the Eagles 5-4 in the night cap. LVC posted a 4-4 record in Florida and sit at 4-6 overall, while UNW's record is 4-5.
Game 1The Dutchmen were blanked 10-0 in the opening game. The Eagles scored two in the top of the first and six more in the third inning, a frame that featured three LVC errors. The Dutchmen had chances to plate runs throughout the game, but were unable to convert.
Colin Albright posted two hits in the game, while Marshall Kiessling,
Nick O'Shea, Mike Puglisi and
Zac Edwards each recorded a hit.
Troy Hunter (0-1) suffered the loss, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up eight runs (two earned) and striking out a pair.
Jared McCabe was solid in relief, throwing 3.1 innings while giving up just two hits and striking out a pair with no earned runs on his line.
Tyler Osborn led UNW with a 5-for-5 game from the plate, including three RBI and two runs scored.

The second game was much closer, as LVC scored three in the second inning, beginning with a
Philip Berry single through the left side that scored Albright.
Jacob Williams followed with a sacrifice fly and
Jonathan Harned reached on a throwing error to score Berry.
The Dutchmen tacked on one more in the third when Berry was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score Josh Marcelli and make it 4-0 LVC.
In the fifth, the Eagles began the comeback when Braxton Lindow hit a two-RBI single through the right side to cut the lead in half at 4-2. Later in the inning, Brett Reinhart hit a wind-driven triple to left center to score two and tie the game at 4-4.
UNW took the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth with an RBI-single to center field by Tucker Morrell. The Eagles kept LVC off the scoreboard in the top of the seventh to preserve the narrow 5-4 win.
At the Plate - Berry finished with two hits and two RBI, while Williams added an RBI.
On the Mound -
Michael Houseal pitched well, going five innings while giving up an earned run to go along with six punch outs.
UNW's Erik Nyquist went the distance, tossing seven innings and giving up three earned runs.
Who's Next?The Dutchmen head back to Annville and battle crosstown opponent Elizabethtown on Wednesday in the home opener. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
