How It Happened
Lebanon Valley plated three runs in the bottom of the eighth come from behind and edge Elizabethtown 10-9 in the Dutchmen's home opener on Wednesday afternoon. LVC jumped to 5-6, while the Blue Jays fell to 6-7.

Tied at 9-9 in the bottom of the eighth, Josh Marcelli hit a bloop single to right center field to score Marshall Kiessling and give LVC the 10-9 lead that it did not relinquish. Michael Puglisi began the scoring in the eighth, the inning in which the Dutchmen trailed 9-7 at the start. Puglisi singed home Marc Seibert to make it 9-8 and later, Puglisi scored on a wild pitch to make it 9-9 before Marcelli hit his game-winning hit.

LVC jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first as Kiessling, Colin Albright, and Marcelli each recorded an RBI in the frame. In the fifth with the Dutchmen up 4-2, Ryan Shirk homered for the Blue Jays and E-Town got two more runs due to LVC errors to tie the game at 4-4. The back-and-forth affair continued for the remainder of the game, as neither team was able to go ahead by more than one run, however it was the Dutchmen who eventually came out on top.

At the Plate
 - Kiessling finished with four hits, while Marcelli posted a 3-for-5 day at the plate with three RBI.
 - Puglisi added three more hits for LVC to go along with two runs scored, while Matthew Smarkanic also scored twice.
