How It HappenedLebanon Valley held Alvernia to a season-low 25 points in a 69-25 rout of the Crusaders on Saturday afternoon at Sorrentino Gymnasium. With the win, the Dutchmen jumped to 14-7, 8-4 MAC Commonwealth, while Alvernia fell to 8-14, 3-10 MAC Commonwealth.
LVC dominated in all facets of the game, starting by outscoring the Crusaders 15-10 in the opening quarter. The Dutchmen opened the second quarter by scoring five consecutive points, capped off by a
Peyton Carper layup to take a 20-10 lead with 7:29 left in the second. After Alvernia came to within five at 20-15
Bridget Rothert put LVC back up by eight at 23-15 with a trey at 4:59. From there, the Dutchmen ended the quarter on a 13-2 run and were ahead comfortably at 33-17 heading into the halftime break.
The Dutchmen continued to pour it on the in the third quarter, dismissing any thought of a Crusaders comeback.
Kiely Chaklos put LVC ahead by 30 points (49-19) with 3:49 left in the third after a made free throw. The lead grew as time came off the clock and the Dutchmen were up 58-20 after three quarters of action. With 12 seconds left in the game, Alexandria Lehman gave LVC its largest lead of the game (44 points) with a jumper as the Dutchmen cruised to the 69-25 win.
Top PerformersLexie Lantz shined offensively for LVC, tying her career-high with 20 points on 9-of-19 shooting. She added 11 rebounds for the double-double, while the junior added two blocks in just 21 minutes of action.
Chaklos ended with 10 points while dishing out nine assists in 32 minutes of play.

Taylor Troutman added eight points and 10 boards apiece.
Inside the Numbers - From the field as a team, the Dutchmen shot 57.9-percent, while Alvernia shot 19.6-percent.
