How It Happened
Lebanon Valley erased a 12-point second half deficit and took the lead with less than four minutes remaining before ultimately falling 76-70 at Alvernia on Saturday afternoon in a preview of a potential conference tournament postseason matchup.

The Flying Dutchmen (3-4, 1-1 MAC Commonwealth) trailed by double digits with 10:03 left to play before putting together a key 21-9 run over the next six and a half minutes to reclaim the lead for the first time since the first half when Sam Light buried a three-pointer to put LVC out in from 64-63 with 3:37 remaining.

Alvernia (4-2, 1-1 MAC Commonwealth) came up big down the stretch and responded by scoring nine of the game's next 11 points to go ahead 72-66 with 20 seconds left. Andy Orr knocked down a jumper with eight seconds to play to cut the deficit to four but the Dutchmen were forced to foul in the closing seconds and Mike Miller converted a pair from the free throw line to seal the victory for the Crusaders.

LVC trailed 34-28 at halftime after leading 24-22 following a pair of Orr free throws at the 6:20 mark. Will Boccanfuso's jumper in the paint gave the Dutchmen their largest lead of the afternoon at 15-10 with 11:23 remaining in the first half.

Battle of the Bigs
Saturday's matchup pitted the two most talented big men in the MAC Commonwealth against each other in LVC's Andy Orr and Alvernia's Marquis Marshall. As expected, both bigs showed off their prowess as Orr netted a game-high 22 points and pulled in six rebounds to go along with a pair of assists, while Marshall scored 21 and grabbed a team-best seven rebounds.

Light Reaches Milestone
Thanks to his 19 points against the Crusaders, LVC's Sam Light surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career. The junior began his career at Division II Millersville and has scored 666 points while wearning the blue and white. He joins teammate Andy Orr as Lebanon Valley players to reach the impressive milestone this season.

Inside the Numbers
- Alvernia shot 48.3 percent from the floor compared to 42.2 percent shooting by the Dutchmen.
- Both teams were nearly identical from behind the arc as the Crusaders shot 31.6 percent from distance, while LVC shot 30.4 percent from three-point territory.
- Lebanon Valley outrebounded the home team 37-36.
