How It Happened
Lebanon Valley erased a four-goal deficit in second and third periods and earned a 4-4 tie with Stevenson University in ECAC West men's ice hockey action on Friday night at Lebanon Valley's seventh installment of Military Appreciation Night. The Dutchmen moved to 0-7-2, 0-6-1 ECACW, while the Mustangs went to 5-5-1, 2-4-1 ECACW.

After Stevenson scored the game's first goals, LVC began the comeback trail at 8:37 of the second when Zach Yingst rocketed a shot from the left point past Stevenson's Jacob Caffrey off assists from Brad Nolan and Cole Hepler to get the Dutchmen on the board at 4-1. With just four and a half minutes remaining in the second, Hepler made it a two-goal contest when he scored from Bryan Hovanec and the 4-2 score held up heading into the third period.

In the third, the intensity picked up on both sides, especially LVC's. Midway through the third, Hepler netted his second goal of the game, this time unassisted and short-handed, to bring the Dutchmen to within one at 4-3. In the final minute of the third, Joel Eisenhower was pulled to bring out an extra skater for the Dutchmen and it paid off when Jared Karas found the back of the net from Nolan and Brett Johnson to erase Stevenson's four-goal deficit in thrilling fashion.

In the overtime period, the Mustangs needed to kill of a penalty for the first minute and change and despite a few LVC shots, Stevenson killed off the penalty and brought the game back to even strength. Eisnehower made a couple of good saves in overtime and neither team was able to find the back of the net, resulting in the 4-4 tie.
