How It Happened
Andy Orr recorded his first double-double of the season and Lebanon Valley shot an impressive 54.2 percent from the field en route to a 73-61 non-conference victory at Elizabethtown on Monday night, Dec. 19.
The Flying Dutchmen (6-5) led by as many as 17 and never less than eight points in the second half. A Jamil Pines-Elliott layup in transition cut LVC's advantage to 62-54 with 5:26 left to play but
Travis Conrad quickly shut the door on the Blue Jays (3-6) when he buried a jumper from beyond the arc on the ensuing possession to push the lead back to double-digits.
Orr scored the game's next six points to increase the Dutchmen advantage to a game-high 17 points and put the finishing touches on LVC's road victory over the team's one-time conference rival.
Lebanon Valley scored eight of the first 10 points to open to the second half when Conrad connected on back-to-back three balls before
Sam Light's fast break layup off an assist from
Marquis Davis made it 51-37 at the 16:55 mark.
A pair of LVC reserves made an impact late in the first half as
Collin Moore's layup in transition off a Davis steal and assist and
Ricky Bugg's jumper in the paint with four seconds left in the half gave the Dutchmen a 43-35 lead heading into the break.
Orr was outstanding in the first half, scoring 19 points and pulling in 10 rebounds in the opening 20 minutes. He also poured in 13 of LVC's first 19 markers to begin the contest.
