How It Happened
MANCHESTER, N.H. – A day after winning its first NCAA game since November of 2007, Lebanon Valley's men's ice hockey team was edged out by Southern New Hampshire University 3-2 on Sunday afternoon. The Dutchmen slipped to 1-7-2, while the Penmen improved to 10-3-0.

After the majority of the first period saw no scoring, SNHU's Nathan Bergeron broke the 0-0 tie with a tally 18:10 into the period, giving the Penmen a 1-0 lead which they kept heading into the second period.

SNHU went up 2-0 when Brett Strawn found the back of the net 2:47 into the period, but five minutes later, Cole Hepler brought LVC to within one at 2-1 when he scored on the power play from Jared Karas and the 2-1 score held up heading into the third.

In the final period, Karas evened the game for the Dutchmen four minutes into the third when he netted another PP goal for LVC from Travis Acker and Brad Nolan. The Penmen, however, netted a goal at 9:03 and LVC was unable to tie the game again, resulting in the narrow 3-2 defeat.

Inside the Numbers
 - Karas led the way with seven shots on goal, followed by Mike Straub (six) and Nolan and Brett Johnson, who each tallied four shots on net.
 - Hepler was stellar from the faceoff circle, going 19-for-25. As a team, the Dutchmen led in faceoff wins at 45-27.
 - Joel Eisenhower got the nod between the pipes again and he made 26 saves, including 11 in the third.
 - SNHU's Ryan Slatky made 34 saves and earned the victory.
