How It Happened
Sam Light and Andy Orr were sensational in leading Lebanon Valley to an 85-70 win over Penn State Mont Alto at Sorrentino Gymnasium in the team's opening contest of the 2016 Rinso Marquette Tournament.

Leading by three points with less than nine minutes remaining, the Flying Dutchmen (1-1) finally pulled away for good thanks to a 9-0 run over the course of 2:38 as the second half ticked away. Light and Orr combined to score all nine markers during the crucial stretch.

The Lions (1-3) cut the deficit to single digits with less than three minutes to play but Light's three-ball with 1:56 left to play pushed the LVC advantage back to 12 to end any slim hope of a Penn State Mont Alto comeback.

As good as the duo of Light and Orr was in the first half (31 points, eight rebounds), it was even better after the break, accounting for 32 of the team's 43 second-half points. The Dutchmen were also stellar as a group as a whole from the field in the second half and shot an impressive 66.7 percent (16-24) from the floor.

Those Guys Again
Sam Light and Andy Orr, each a member of the MAC's 2015-16 All-Conference First-Team, teamed up to finish as LVC's top scorers for the second time in as many games. Light showed off his propensity to get to the foul line, while still connecting from distance as he finished the game 4-5 from beyond the arc and 6-7 from the charity stripe. Orr's versatility was on full display as he reached his point total on 9-14 shooting, including a triple and eight free throws.

Inside the Numbers

- Mont Alto attempted 29 three-pointers, connecting on eight of them. LVC was 7-16 from beyond the arc.
- Each team pulled in 34 total rebounds but the Dutchmen converted 22 points off of Mont Alto turnovers, compared to just 10 points off turnovers for the Lions.
- Lebanon Valley was strong in transition and recorded 12 fast break points.
- Sam Light was the game's leading scorer with 36 points. He finished just three tallies shy of matching his career-high of 39 set last season. He also added three steals.
