How It Happened
Lebanon Valley held off Wesley's second-half charge to earn a 58-53 victory over the Wolverines at Sorrentino Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon to earn the program's second consecutive Rinso Marquette Tournament Championship.
After Wesley (1-2) erased a 19-point halftime deficit and grabbed a 50-49 lead when Brian Cameron converted three free throws after being fouled beyond the arc, the Flying Dutchmen (2-1) closed out the contest on a 9-3 run that was keyed by a
Will Boccanfuso layup in traffic and
Sam Light's clutch three-ball.
Trailing 29-10 at the break, the Wolverines reeled off nine points in a row to open the second half before cutting the deficit to single digits for the first time since the game's opening moments when Evan Anderson connected with three-pointer with 16:35 remaining.
It was all LVC in the first half as Light and
Andy Orr combined to score the team's first 16 points before
Collin Moore buried a jumper from distance off a
Ricky Bugg assist to put the home team ahead 19-5 at the 8:01 mark.
The Dutchmen closed out the half on a 9-0 run capped by a
Marquis Davis putback off a
Caleb Barwin miss with 36 seconds left before the break.
All-Tournament Team
Thanks to their outstanding weekends that saw them combine to score 98 points in two outings,
Sam Light and
Andy Orr were named to the 2016 Rinso Marquette All-Tournament Team. Light, who averaged 31 points per game on better than 50 percent shooting from the field, was named the tourney's MVP.

Will Boccanfuso corralled a team-high six rebounds.
