How It Happened
UTICA, N.Y. – Lebanon Valley's men's ice hockey team continued the rough portion of its schedule on Saturday afternoon by visiting Utica College and falling to the No. 11 Pioneers 4-1 in ECAC West action. The Dutchmen slipped to 0-4-1, 0-3 ECACW, while Utica jumped to 5-0-0, 3-0-0 ECACW.

LVC kept the Pioneers' potent offense in check for a little while, however Utica broke through just over eight minutes into the first when Easton Powers found the back of the net. Five minutes later, Powers potted another to give Utica a 2-0 advantage after one period of action.

In the second period, the only scoring play to occur was when Utica's Roman Ammirato netted a goal in the closing minutes, however the Dutchmen got one back midway through the third when Cole Hepler found the back of the net off assists from Travis Hall and Brett Johnson,. LVC was unable to complete the comeback, though, as the Pioneers scored less than a minute later to take the 4-1 advantage, which they held on to in the end.

Inside the Numbers
 - Joel Eisenhower made his first start of the season and was impressive, making 45 saves in 60 minutes of action.
 - Travis Acker went 7-for-17 on faceoffs and Hepler was 3-for-7.
 - Brad Nolan and Hepler led the Dutchmen in shots on goal with four, while Eric Higgins, Acker, and Russ Armbruster each recorded three.

Who's Next?
LVC continues ECAC West action on the road when the Dutchmen visit Nazareth College in Rochester, N.Y. tomorrow at 4 p.m.
