How It Happened
Lebanon Valley picked up its first victory of the afternoon in impressive fashion by sweeping Gallaudet 25-18, 25-19, and 25-16 in the opening contest of a tri-match held at Blue Mountain Sports Arena at Fort Indiantown Gap on Friday evening.
The Flying Dutchmen (13-5) jumped out to a 9-1 advantage in the first set during
Amber Deshong's service run. The Bison (10-12) cut the deficit to 14-11 midway through the game but a
Nina Mentzer kill off an assist from
Greta Weidemoyer a few plays later pushed the lead back to 20-14. LVC tallied the final four points, capped by a Weidemoyer kill off an
Erin Koons' assist to end it.
Gallaudet led 5-4 early in the second set before the Dutchmen reeled off four in a row to put some distance between themselves and the Bison. GU kept things close through the game's midway point but a Deshong service ace capped a run that made it 23-15 in the closing moments. LVC held on for the victory and took a 2-0 lead into the third game.
Weidemoyer opened serve for Lebanon Valley in the third set and the team jumped out to a 4-0 lead before the Bison won four consecutive points to tie things up. The Dutchmen gave themselves some breathing room when
Jess Attieh finished off a Koons' set to make it 13-7 LVC at the midway point.
Amanda Sides added a kill to make it 19-11 a few plays later and Gallaudet was unable to draw closer than 22-16 before bowing out.

How It Happened
It took all five sets and then some for Lebanon Valley to complete the tri-match sweep on Friday night thanks to a thrilling 18-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 16-14 victory over Scranton in the final contest of the day at Blue Mountain Sports Arena in Fort Indiantown Gap.
After dropping the opening set, LVC (14-5) rebounded to take set two. After falling behind 11-4 in the early going, the Flying Dutchmen methodically clawed back into it and eventually drew even at 12-12 following a
Reina Eckman kill during an
Allison Cable service run that produced four consecutive points.
Jess Attieh's late-game kill off a
Greta Weidemoyer feed put Lebanon Valley out in front 23-22 and Weidemoyer recorded the deciding kill three plays later.
LVC dropped a tight third set to the Royals (11-13) but opened up a 6-1 advantage to begin the fourth game when
Amber Deshong finished off a Cable feed in the early going. The Royals eventually drew even at 19-19 but the Dutchmen took advantage of a handful of Scranton attack errors to pull ahead in crunch time before Weidemoyer secured the slim victory with a kill off a Koons' assist to force a deciding game.
The Dutchmen fell behind 7-3 in the fifth and final set before reeling off six of the next seven points to take a 9-8 lead. Scranton answered back with a 6-1 run that appeared to put the Royals on the fast track to victory but
Morgan Webb proved clutch on the serve as LVC rattled off six consecutive points during her run to take the set and the match in dramatic fashion and clinch the tri-match sweep.

Jess Attieh racked up a match-high 16 kills against the Royals.
Greta Weidemoyer was the only other Dutchman to post double-digit kills with 14.
- As she has been apt to do this season, Weidemoyer posted a triple-double with her kills total, a team-high 26 assists, and 10 digs.

Abbey Barnhart added 15 of her own.
