How It Happened
GLENSIDE, Pa. – Four different players scored for Lebanon Valley, resulting in a 4-0 shutout-victory over Arcadia on Wednesday night in MAC Commonwealth men's soccer action. The Dutchmen won their first conference game and moved to 8-2, 1-1 MACC, while the Knights dropped to 6-3-2, 0-1-1 MACC.

Just over 12 minutes into the match, Tyler Skye weaved his way through the defenders from outside the box and ripped a shot from the top that beat starting goalie Chris Watson to give LVC an early 1-0 advantage. For the remainder of the half, the match remained 1-0 and the Dutchmen went into halftime clinging to the one-goal lead.

In the 69th minute of the second half, Ian McGinnis gave LVC some breathing room when he beat the keeper low for his first goal of the year off an assist from Alex Detweiler making it 2-0. Eight minutes later in the 77th minute, Jake Kline made it a 3-0 game when his shot from outside the 18 found the back of the net, and less than three minutes later, Cam Alexander made a move from a defender and rocketed a shot from outside the box on the left side that beat the leaping goalie, making it a 4-0 score.

The Dutchmen's defense held Arcadia off the scoreboard for the remainder of the match and Cam Avery and the stout defenders earned the shutout win.
