How It Happened
A first-time ranked Lebanon Valley men's soccer squad cruised past conference foe Stevenson 5-0 on Tuesday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth action. The No. 22 Dutchmen, ranked for the first time in program history, improved their record to 13-2, 6-1 MACC, while the Mustangs dropped to 3-12-3, 2-5 MACC.

LVC extended their best start in program history with the win today, thanks to five goals by five different players. Tyler Skye began this afternoon's scoring when he was awarded a penalty kick after Stevenson committed a foul inside the box. Skye went left side and found the back of the net for the 1-0 lead 13:30 into the first. Then in the 28th minute, Alex Detweiler, the birthday boy, delivered a free kick into the box where Riley Katshir was there and headed it home for his third of the year and a 2-0 Dutchmen advantage.

In the 31st minute, Gabe Stasyszyn scored his first goal of the season from Rob Hanosek, and in the 40th minute, LVC capped off a dominant first half when Hanosek took advantage of a Mustangs' turnover and scored off an assist from Youseff Ouayakhaf.

In the second half, the Dutchmen put the icing on the cake when Austin Freeman scored his fourth of the season off a beautiful cross from Bradley Mehl. The rest of the half was chippy, but LVC's defense was able to keep Stevenson's offense in check en route to the shutout.

Cam Avery, the back-to-back MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week, played just under 60 minutes and made two saves to improve his record to 13-2.
