W. Soccer Holds Off Albright on Senior Day

How It Happened
Lebanon Valley's Meghan Ross scored two first-half goals and the Dutchmen held off Albright and beat the Lions 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth women's soccer action. LVC improved to 9-5, 3-3 MACC and Albright fell to 9-7-1, 3-3-1 MACC.

Before this afternoon's game, the Dutchmen honored its nine seniors including Erin Angelini, Taylor Reinhold, Johnna Garbrick, Laura Zimmermann, Sammy Bost, Sam Wright, Kristin Robeson, Mackenzie Murray, and Kara Strack.

Just before the 20-minute mark in the first, Rileigh Jo Evitts ran down the right side of the field and sent a pass into the box where Ross scored for the match's first tally. Later, in the 35th minute, a pass came down Ross who again found the back of the net, making it a 2-0 score, which stuck heading into halftime.

The Lions came to within a goal when Emily Sousa took advantage of an LVC turnover and got a pass from Natalie Wilson and scored. The Dutchmen defense stayed strong throughout the remainder of the half and held Albright off the scoreboard.

Inside the Numbers
 - LVC outshot Albright 16-10 and also held the edge in shots on goal at 6-3.
 - Reinhold earned her ninth win of the year and made two saves.
 - The Dutchmen were up in corner kicks at 7-4.

Playoff Picture
Messiah, Arcadia, and Stevenson have all secured playoff spots. Albright, Alvernia, and LVC are all battling for the fourth and fifth spots.

Who's Next?
The Dutchmen play host to Stevenson on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
