How It Happened
CANTON, N.Y. – Lebanon Valley's volleyball team ended its dominant weekend with a 3-0 sweep of SUNY Canton at the Canton Quad on Sunday morning. The Dutchmen recorded their sixth-consecutive win and improved to 18-5, while the Roos fell to 13-13.
Yesterday, LVC won both of their matches in New York, edging Oswego State 3-2 before cruising past SUNY Potsdam 3-0.
Today, Canton jumped out to an 11-5 lead in the first set, however a 9-3 run by the Dutchmen tied things up at 14-14. After the Roos went up 16-15, LVC rattled off five in a row, capped by a
Melanie Phifer service ace, to go up by five at 21-16. At set point,
Amber Deshong registered a kill from
Erin Koons to clinch the first at 25-19.
In the middle set, Canton once again jumped out to a big lead at 10-4, but LVC was able to battle back yet again and tied it at 12-12. The back-and-forth affair continued and the Dutchmen found themselves up 21-19 thanks to a kill by
Amanda Sides. The Roos came back to tie it at 23-23, but two straight kills from
Jess Attieh gave the Dutchmen the 25-23 second-set win.
In the third set, LVC once again opened up a big lead at 13-4 and Canton wasn't able to battle back this time, never getting closer than five points, as the Dutchmen took the third and final set easily at 25-14.
Inside the Numbers
- Attieh finished with 13 kills and
Greta Weidemoyer added 11. She also notched 18 assists and 10 digs for her third-consecutive triple-double.

Mackenzie Walck registered a match-high six blocks and Koons finished with 18 assists.

Abbey Barnhart dug out nine balls for LVC.

The Dutchmen have won 17 of their last 18 matches.
