How It Happened
Lebanon Valley returned to Annville for the first time in over a month and was edged by the defending MAC Commonwealth champs, Stevenson, by a 61-58 score on Wednesday evening. The Dutchmen, who went 1-1 on their two-game road trip in San Juan, Puerto Rico, fell to 9-4, 3-2 MAC COM, while the Mustangs improved to 5-6, 2-3 MAC COM.

Tied at 56-56 with 3:50 remaining in the contest, Stevenson's Sara Tarbert made a layup to put the Mustangs ahead 58-56. With 3:03 to go, Lexie Lantz drilled a jumper to tie the game for the seventh time at 58-58. With just over two minutes to go, Caitlin Roy got a good pass from Tarbert and an open look from behind the arc and nailed the triple to put Stevenson ahead 61-58.

For the rest of the game, neither team was able to score, as Peyton Carper's trey barely missed at the buzzer, giving the Mustangs the three-point victory.

LVC jumped out to a 14-4 lead to begin the game, including 12 consecutive points. Stevenson cut the Dutchmen's advantage to eight, but LVC still led 16-8 after one quarter of action. At the 7:57 mark of the second quarter, Taylor Umbrell's second free throw gave the Dutchmen a 22-12 lead, however Stevenson scored the game's next 13 points to take a 25-22 lead with 4:47 left in the second. The contest stayed close for the remainder of the period and the Mustangs took a 29-28 lead at the break.

Stevenson came out in the third on a 9-4 spurt to take a 39-33 advantage with 4:02 to go, but the Dutchmen came storming back with a 14-5 run to end the quarter, giving them a 47-44 lead heading into the final quarter. The fourth featured back-and-forth action and the game was tied on three separate occasions before Roy made the three-pointer that put the Mustangs up for good.
