How It HappenedAMHERST, Mass. – The no. 2 team in the country was too much for Lebanon Valley on Sunday afternoon, as Amherst defeated the Dutchmen 73-38. LVC slipped to 9-5, while the Lord Jeffs stayed undefeated at 12-0.
Amherst opened the contest on a 14-2 advantage with 5:58 remaining in the first quarter. LVC came back with an 8-6 spurt, however, to make the score 22-10 at the end of the first. In the second quarter, the Lord Jeffs held the Dutchmen to just eight points and took a 36-18 lead heading into halftime.
In the third quarter, LVC kept within striking distance in the beginning, however at the end of the quarter Amherst led 52-29 and maintained its lead in the fourth en route to the 73-38 win.
Inside the Numbers - With the win, the Lord Jeffs extended their home winning streak to an impressive 116 games.

Rachel Kelly led the Dutchmen's offense with eight points off the bench, while
Kiely Chaklos added six and
Hilary Yoh added five.

Taylor Umbrell and
Taylor Troutman added six rebounds apiece.
 - Amherst was solid from the field and shot 48.3% and 40% from beyond the arc.
 - Marley Giddens scored a game-high 28 points on 13-of-14 shooting.
Who's Next?Only MAC Commonwealth games remain for the Dutchmen, as they look to get back on track on Wednesday when Widener comes to town for a 6 p.m. contest.
