Complete ResultsWILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After the weekend's record snowfall postponed both of the teams' scheduled meets, Lebanon Valley was finally back in the pool on Wednesday night. Both the men's and women's team competed at Lycoming with the men falling 133-63 and the women dropping a 133-55 decision.
Jan Ikeda was LVC's top solo swimmer on the women's side, winning the 200-yard fly in 2:18.48, nearly 20 seconds faster than Scarlet Ojeda, the runner-up from Lycoming. Ikeda added runner-up finishes in the 500-yard free and as a member of the 200-yard medley relay, along with
Leslie Hiller,
Lauren Skorupski, and
Katie Gingrich.
Chris Kurtz came home with a thrilling solo victory for the men, besting the Warriors' Callan Jordan by just .01 seconds in the 200-yard free with a time of 1:53.80. Kurtz combined with
Ian Lloyd,
Nate Ginder, and
Clay Heebner to win the 200-yard free relay by touching in 1:34.94, nearly two seconds quicker than Lyco's foursome.
Brandon Seigel and
Bobby Burkhart had solid showings in the 50-yard free, swimming a 23.57 and 24.47, respectively, good enough to earn second and third-place finishes.
Clay Heebner added a runner-up finish in the 200-yard fly, as did Lloyd in the 200-yard back and Burkhart 200-yard breast.
Madison Martin gave Lyco's Jess Wimmer a run for her money in the 400-yard IM, coming home second with a time of 5:30.32, while Skorupski was the runner-up in the 200-yard breast thanks to her time of 2:53.33.
The Dutchmen are next in action this Saturday afternoon, Jan. 30 when they travel to Messiah for a rare quad-meet that will see Hood and Misericordia also compete. It is the team's last meet of the regular season and shove prove a welcome warm-up for the MAC Championships in mid-February.
