ANNVILLE, Pa. - On Wednesday night, Jan. 27, Lebanon Valley's women's basketball program will host its ninth annual Pink Game in hopes of spreading breast cancer awareness. The Flying Dutchmen host MAC Commonwealth foe Hood at 6 p.m.
Â
LVC has hosted the Pink Game every season since 2007. The event aims to raise awareness regarding breast cancer detection, treatment, and prevention. A jersey auction, commemorative pink t-shirt sale, and prize giveaways are Pink Game staples and proceeds will once again benefit the American Cancer Society of Lebanon and the Genetics Program at the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute.
Â
Each year, the Dutchmen don specially-designed pink uniforms for one night only and encourage the Lebanon Valley faithful to sport pink gear in support of a great cause. Each one-of-a-kind jersey is currently available for auction on GoDutchmen.com and in-person bids will be accepted on game day at Sorrentino Gymnasium until the start of the second half.

The Pink Game is centered around LVC's Pink Week beginning with Pink Zumba instructed by Todd Snovel on Monday night and ending Friday evening with pink cupcake decorating at the Mund College Center. A breast cancer speaker will visit campus on Tuesday night and a doggy kissing booth will be set up in Mund hours before the Pink Game tips off.Â
Fans planning to attend the game are encouraged to arrive early as a sell-out crowd is expected. There is no charge for admission but donations will be accepted to benefit the American Cancer Society and the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute. A free shuttle service will run from remote parking lots on LVC's campus before and after the game.
UPDATE: Due to this past weekend's record snowfall, those attending tomorrow night's Pink Game are strongly encouraged to take advantage of free parking and two shuttle services at Annville-Cleona Secondary School. The Annville-Cleona parking lot is located less than a mile from LVC and contains nearly 180 extra parking spaces for attendees. The shuttle services will begin at approximately 4 p.m. and continue until the end of the men's basketball game for those who wish to stay for the entirety of Wednesday's doubleheader.Â
