How It Happened Against NeumannIt was a back-and-forth first set against Neumann, a team that Lebanon Valley swept 3-0 back on Sept. 19. Tied at 13-13, the Dutchmen went on a 4-0 run capped off by a
Rachel Moltz service ace to go up 17-13. From there, the Knights never came within three points of the Dutchmen and LVC took the first set 25-18, which ended on a kill by Moltz.
In the second set, the Dutchmen jumped out to an 8-3 advantage, only to see it dwindle to a two-point lead thanks to three straight Neumann points. With LVC up 11-10, the Knights scored eight straight to make it 18-11 and they held on for the second-set victory at 25-21 to even the match at 1-1.
The third set was close early on as the Dutchmen were ahead 11-8 and they increased the lead to 16-8 which was capped off by an
Abbey Barnhart service ace. After Neumann picked up a point to make it 16-9, LVC put the Knights away with seven straight points to make it 23-7 and went on to win the third set 25-16 for a 2-1 lead in the match.
The fourth set was close throughout until the very end. With the Dutchmen ahead 22-21, LVC scored three straight points: A Moltz kill, followed by two Neumann attack errors that gave the Dutchmen the third set win at 25-21 and the match victory at 3-1.

Greta Weidemoyer led with 11 kills, while All Quirk added 10 and Moltz finished with nine.

Emily Sides served up five aces, and Quirk and
Amber Deshong each added five blocks.

Allie Garrett compiled an impressive 23 digs and
Morgan Webb tallied 19.
How It Happened Against Frostburg StateLVC grinded through another tough matchup and edged out the hosts in a five setter in the second match on Saturday. In the opening set, the Bobcats jumped ahead 9-6, only to see the Dutchmen rattle off five straight to go up 11-9. Later in the set, LVC extended the lead to 20-11 off an attack error, and a Weidemoyer kill then secured the first-set victory at 25-19.
The second set was close and tied at 10-10, but a mini run at 5-2 gave the Dutchmen a 15-12 lead. A Weidemoyer kill later put LVC ahead 21-14, as the Dutchmen went on to take the set 25-16 and go up 2-0 in the match.
After Frostburg won the next two sets, the match came down to a fifth and final set, which was a nail biter, as the back-and-forth set 10 lead changes. Knotted at 12-12 late in the set, a Bobcats' service error put LVC up 13-12. A kill from Quirk then made it 14-12, and after a Frostburg kill, Quirk sealed the match with a kill of her own, giving the Dutchmen a 15-13 fifth-set victory.
Stats Against Frostburg State - Weidemoyer paced LVC in kills again, this time with 15, while Quirk had 13 and
Amber Deshong chipped in 11.
- Moltz had five service aces, while Sides tallied four.
- Nina Menzter totaled four blocks and Quirk added three more.
- Moltz was solid with 27 assists and Sides had 18.
- Garrett led in digs again with 25, while Webb notched 14 and Sides posted 12.
Four Consecutive Victories - The win over the Bobcats was the fourth straight for LVC, as the Dutchmen pushed their record to 10-5.
Who's Next?LVC returns home on Tuesday and jumps back into MAC-Commonwealth action with a 7 p.m. match against Lycoming in Annville.
