No. 22 Haverford Deals LVC First Loss of Season

How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday afternoon at Herbert Field. No. 22 Haverford edged the Dutchmen thanks a goal in the first overtime with 1:14 remaining.

LVC got on the board first, just over six minutes into the contest when Sammy Bost drilled a ball into the left side of the net from about 10 yards out off of an assist from Meghan Ross. The Fords answered about 13 minutes later in the 20th minute when Ali Lopez took the ball down the left side and hit a bad angle shot that went in to tie the contest at 1-1.

In the second half, the Dutchmen controlled play for most of the 45 minutes, but were unable to find the back of the net despite several chances as the game as the game headed to overtime.

Each team exchanged some chances in the first overtime period. LVC's best chance came when Bost had an open look 15 yards out, however the kick sailed high and the game was held scoreless.

With 1:14 left in the first overtime, Jo Haller took advantage of a misplayed ball about 25 yards from Dutchmen goalie Taylor Reinhold, and she went in for the mini breakaway and netted a goal to win the game for the Fords 2-1.

Inside the Numbers
 - LVC suffered its first loss of the season, but is still looking just fine with a 6-1 record.
 - Each squad recorded 11 shots, but the Dutchmen held the edge in corner kicks at 4-2.
 - Reinhold made four stops between the pipes for LVC, while Haverford's Kathy Prescott notched three.

Bost Approaching Several LVC Records
With her goal today, Bost now sits on 86 career points, which is fourth on LVC women's soccer's all-time list. Her 34 goals are tied for second all time, and her 18 assists are good for sixth all time.

Road Trip Begins
The Dutchmen now go on the road for four consecutive matches. The first is at King's College (Pa.) in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday at 4 p.m.
