How It Happened Against NeumannASTON, Pa. – Lebanon Valley picked up two wins today on the second and final day of the Neumann Knights Invitational. The Dutchmen cruised past the hosts Neumann 3-0 and edged Catholic in a 3-2 thriller. In the two-day tournament, LVC compiled a 3-1 record and improved to 8-5 on the season.
The offense continued to shine on Saturday, as three players were in double digits in kills.
Jess Attieh led the attack with a match-high 16 kills, while
Alli Quirk added 12 and
Greta Weidemoyer recorded 11. Attieh had an impressive hitting percentage of .500 and Quirk's was .409 and she added six blocking assists.
Emily Sides had 22 assists and
Rachel Moltz also had double figures with 16.
Abbey Barnhart had an impressive night with 15 digs and
Allie Garrett was right behind her teammate with 14.
How It Happened Against CatholicLVC's offensive outburst against Neumann got even better against Catholic, as the Dutchmen were led by the 21 kills from Quirk and 20 from Weidemoyer. Attieh was impressive as well, as she registered 15 kills. Quirk and Weidemoyer had three blocks apiece and Sides added two more. Moltz lit up the stat sheet with 44 assists and Sides had 20.
Garrett led in digs with 35 and Webb had 13 while Moltz tallied 12.
Attieh Named to All-Tournament TeamYesterday, Attieh totaled 30 kills in two matches and today she finished with 31 today to cap off an impressive weekend. For her efforts, the freshman was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Who's Next?LVC has a week off until its next match. Next Saturday, the Dutchmen travel to Frostburg, Md. for the Frostburg State Tri-Match. LVC takes on Neumann on Saturday at 2 p.m.Â
