How It Happened
It was all Lebanon Valley in the team's 4-0 shutout victory over St. Lawrence on day one of the William Smith Classic on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 19.

The Flying Dutchmen (3-3) used a pair of goals from leading-scorer Brittany Fleisher and the first scores of the season from Molly Van Leuvan and Caity Stevens, as well as a strong defensive effort to make quick work of the Saints.

Fleisher netted her fifth goal of the year just 50 seconds into the contest to put LVC on the board first. The Dutchmen added two more before halftime as Van Leuvan put her rebound of a Lyndee Sheaffer attempt past St. Lawrence goalkeeper Kim Haab in the 22nd minute before Fleisher added her second of the day off a Megan Arnst assist ten minutes later.

After the break, Stevens put things out of reach when she redirected an Arnst attempt past Haab and into the back of the net in with 25 minutes left to play.

Notable Performances
Brittany Fleisher, Megan Arnst, Defenders – Fleisher has been red hot to start the season as her six goals and 13 total points are both tops among Dutchmen. Thanks to her two assists against the Saints, Arnst now leads the team in that statistical category. The LVC defense held St. Lawrence to just one shot on goal and four shots overall on Saturday afternoon. Defenders including Casey Dombroski, Rachel Gorman, Kristen Garman along with midfielders Rachel Youngs and Olivia Poltonavage among others, shut down any semblance of St. Lawrence offense.
