Dutchmen Comeback On Arcadia, Stay Unbeaten In CC Play

How It Happened
Trailing 4-1 late in the first half, Lebanon Valley reeled off a huge comeback to top Arcadia, 11-6, and stay unbeaten in Commonwealth Conference play.

The Dutchmen (8-3, 4-0 CC) won their fifth straight game, overcoming an unsettled start and an opportunistic Knights (3-7, 1-3 CC) team. Mason Hoff scored his first career hat trick, including two key late goals, while Klayton Garman had an eight-point game on three goals and five assists and Koty Keefer had three goals and a helper.

Hoff provided the only goal of a frustrating first quarter as LVC managed 12 shots, and Arcadia punched on several Dutchman mistakes in the second to scored four goals in an eight-minute span. Needing a shot in the arm before the half, LVC found it thanks to Garman, who fed Keefer and Brian Kilonsky 34 seconds apart to cut it to 4-3 at the break.

After a tentative start to the third for both teams, Garman tied the game off a strike from Hoff, and Keefer put LVC back ahead before Arcadia's Matt Mignogna tied it 50 seconds later. Garman would then score two in an 18-second span, both from Brett Kudlak, and LVC wouldn't trail again up 7-5.

Arcadia's Danny Riley opened the fourth quarter with a goal 38 seconds in, but Hoff hit twice to pad the LVC lead and a man-up goal from Alex Bushong and a late tally from Keefer sealed it up. LVC held Arcadia scoreless over the final 14:22 of the game.

Notables
- LVC outshot Arcadia 48-21 but put only 24 attempts on cage.
- Mason Hoff's hat trick was the first of his collegiate career. Keefer and Garman each notched their fifth of the season, and it was also Garman's third 3+ assist game. His five helpers and eight points were a career-high.
- Eric Wilcoxson, named the USILA National Defensive Player of the Week less than an hour before the game, made six saves and allowed six goals to pick up the win. In four starts this year, he has allowed six or fewer goals three times, all while facing 21 or more shots.
- In modern program history, LVC's five-game win streak is second only to a seven-game run back in the 2012 season. LVC had outscored its opponents 61-23 in the last five games.
- It was the first-ever meeting between Lebanon Valley and Arcadia.
- Defensively for LVC, Andy Thurby caused three turnovers, and Coleman Wagner had two with four ground balls. Blake Weaver also made four scoops with a takeaway.
- Jeremy Beaver won 12 of 21 face-off tries. Billy Van Dyke was 1-for-5 for Arcadia before Kevin Hall replaced him to win 8-of-16.
- For the ninth time this year, LVC held an opponent without a man-up goal. Arcadia was 0-for-2. The Dutchman man-down defense came into the game ranked ninth-best in NCAA Division III.
