How It HappenedLebanon Valley's offense came to life in a big way as the Flying Dutchmen used 19 hits, and a strong outing on the mound by starter
Paul Smith, to run away from Penn State Harrisburg 10-1 at McGill Field on Thursday afternoon.
LVC (12-19) never trailed, scoring the game's first run in the bottom of the first when

Jonathan Harned on the play.
The Lions (11-22) posted their lone run of the day in the top of the third when Brian Goodling singled to right field and plated Kyle Buchman in the process following a two-out error that extended the inning.
P. Smith and Penn State Harrisburg starter Derek Slagle cruised over the next two innings but Lebanon Valley finally got to Slagle in the fifth, scoring three runs on four hits and two walks.
Michael Puglisi's fielder's choice drove in Z. Smith and Harned's single to center allowed Fundell and Puglisi to push across three batters later.
The Dutchmen kept them coming in the sixth when Puglisi's single through the right side plated Fundell and Z. Smith for the second time and LVC padded its advantage with one in the seventh, on Fundell's double to deep right-center field that scored Edwards, and two in the eighth, when Dohner tripled to right-center and drove in
Korey Johnson and
Cale Bruso.
