Dutchmen Cruise Past Alvernia, 13-4


How It Happened
Koty Keefer and Brett Kudlak scored hat tricks as Lebanon Valley cruised to a 13-4 win at Alvernia in Commonwealth Conference action.

LVC (6-3, 2-0 CC) scored the game's first five goals, including first-quarter strikes by Austin Minnich and Kudlak, all while holding the Crusaders (3-7, 0-2 CC) scoreless for the opening 23:17 on their way to a 9-2 half-time lead. A seven-goal second quarter keyed LVC's win as Keefer and Kudlak each scored twice in the period.

Alvernia was held to two goals in either half as LVC scored four after the break thanks to Matt Aldridge (twice), Keefer, and Alex Bushong.

Notables
- Keefer took his team-leading goals total to 19 with his fourth hat trick of the season. Kudlak's three-spot was his second in three games as he also handed out two assists.
- Seven different Dutchmen scored and nine had at least a point. Matt Aldridge and Alex Bushong scored two apiece.
- LVC led 44-22 on shots, including 26-8 in the first half. 
- Jeremy Beaver dominated the face-off dot, winning 16 of 20. Ranked in the top 10 in the nation this year in face-off percentage, Beaver improved his season percentage to .699 with his fifth game of the year winning 75 percent or more of his chances. The junior also added a goal, his first of the season.
- Eric Wilcoxson got the nod in cage and made seven stops to earn the win. Counterpart Mason Etier stopped 12 for Alvernia.
- Minnich made a huge defensive contribution with three caused turnovers and 10 ground balls. Zane Brown also caused three, while Coelman Wagner stripped two and picked up five. 
- For the seventh time this year, LVC held an opponent without a man-up goal. Alvernia was 0-for-4 to LVC's 1-for-3.
