DANBURY, Conn. - Junior face-off man
Jeremy Beaver has recorded a pair of firsts for Lebanon Valley College men's lacrosse, becoming the first player in program history to earn USILA National Player of the Week and ECAC Mid-Atlantic Player of the Week honors.
He is the first student-athlete in the six-year modern history of the program to earn either honor. The USILA named him its South Offensive Player of the Week, one of four players honored nationally in NCAA Division III, while the ECAC tabbed him as its Division III Mid-Atlantic Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
Beaver, who was also the Commonwealth Conference's Player of the Week, had a tremendous pair of games on the dot to help LVC go 2-0, dominating with 32 wins in 37 face-offs. At La Roche, he tied a program record with 21 face-off wins in 24 attempts; he followed that with an 11-for-13 clip at Mitchell on Saturday. Beaver had a team-high 19 ground balls for the week, including 12 at La Roche.
The Flying Dutchmen (2-1) will travel to Kean Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
